Home Refurbishments - Battersea

Owning a home in an area as culturally rich and interesting as Battersea has many challenges, including maintaining your properties value and keeping your home fresh and inspiring, whilst at the same time maintaining its architectural pedigree. Here at Lifestyle Interiors we understand Battersea homes and can help you with all your Refurbishment requirements.

Battersea has always required home refurbishment services of one sort or another. Battersea encompassed many different types of land in one holding, upland and lowland, with woodland, arable and pasture land to enable maximum exploitation of local variations, with provision for grazing, crops, reed harvesting (for thatching), fishing and a ready supply of building material. In fact, thatching was big business for home refurbishment back in the 6th century and for many years to come. Whilst we don't offer thatching anymore, due to the decline in reeds from the Thames, we can offer roofing services, if your interested.

Interestingly enough, in 1225, the manor in Battersea was given over to monks for their maintenance in bread and ale. This gave them rights over the income generated from the manor and its administration. So they could buy beer.

With a nice new wooden bridge built by builders in 1771 connecting Battersea to London proper, Battersea began to grow, requiring more builders and homes. Battersea was famous at this point for its asparagus crop known as "Battersea Bundles", as well as its Lavender and pig breeding. By 1874 Battersea was an industrial power house and the birth place for The Morgan Crucible, one of the largest UK manufacturers of carbon and ceramic products for industrial use. This expansion simply fuelled the need for house refurbishments, and whilst Lifestyle Interiors have not been around for that long, they would have been in high demand.

Fast Forward To Now

Long gone are the swaying reeds of the Thames and the fields of ripening asparagus. Today nearly every inch of Battersea is accounted for with real estate. This has caused a rapid increase in the value of houses and their inherent value, which in turn has driven the market for home refurbishment, a market that today Lifestyle Interiors serves with vest and vigour. Contemporary 21st century services offered include:

Through bespoke high end cosmetic design and refurbishment it is often possible to increase the value of a property by 5-10% whilst making your home more attractive, welcoming and nicer to live in.

Whilst valuers may find it hard to place a figure on the increase in value made by cosmetic improvements, the market will always place a premium on an attractively decorated and styled property.

Lifestyle Interiors can assist you with ideas that will make a difference to the visual impact of your home such as reopening fireplaces, upgrading lighting features, restoring natural features or adding aesthetically pleasing accessories.

Start To Finish

A home refurbishment is one of the most complex building processes involving a multitude of disciplines and covering a broad spectrum of rooms and functional requirements. Unlike a house extension or a loft conversion, one home refurbishment is is not necessarily like another. However, they all involve the following steps:

Quality

The quality of our work is second to none. We use the highest grade materials from the leading suppliers, designer names and contemporary fashionable products. Our designers and tradesmen are all of the highest caliber and always go that extra mile to maintain the excellent reputation of the company and ensure that the customer is happy. This approach follows through to beyond completion with the same level of service and care paid towards any subsequent snags or issues that might follow..

Furnishings

As well as carrying out major building work in support of a house refurbishment our services also cover all interior work from first and second fixings through to interior decorating, and the selection of furnishings, furniture, fabrics and appliances. Using our extensive list of quality suppliers we can specify a full refurbishment from top to bottom including wall hangings, home entertainment and curtains.

By To Let

Whilst our main focus is on the refurbishment of homes for the home owner, we have experience and are always happy to carry out refurbishments for the rental sector. If you have brought a house as an investment to let out, possibly in a dilapidated state then we can carry out the work to make the property suitable for tennents. Generally this process aims to present the property is as neutral state as possible to suit all tastes whilst still appearing smart, well cared for, clean and accommodating.

No Obligation Quotes
